Ongoing all year: WE ARE OFFERING A PACKAGE DEAL OF 6 MONTH COMPLETE DESIGN/PDC & PERMA BLITZ  EXPERIENCE FOR ALL.

3 MOS BEGINNER INTRO TO PERMACULTURE COURSE: ​

​

I. Intro to Permaculture

Solutions to Food Production, Lack of Resources, Pollution, Global Warming, Climate Extremes & Successful examples. Principles, Methods of Design, and more about Permaculture and Food Forests.

 

II. Property Checklist and Surveying

Drawing out Existing features to Scale. Surveying techniques & utilizing contour of land to design all possible water catchment, harvesting and passively moving water through your property. Designing to Scale landscaping techniques. 

 

III. Designing Guilds

How to grow healthy living soil, Orientation to Sun, Wind, & other crucial factors. Putting a notebook of analysis of your property, finances, resources, skills, labor force available, time constraints, desires for long-term outcomes and planning. How to utilize online resources and programs for surveying, researching databases, & other needed information as well as local resources and experts of Drought resistant/Hardy native plants .

3 MOS Intermediate Permaculture  Design Course (all 6 months must be completed with all Labs, and final design turned in)

IV. Designing Zones and advanced Hands on course 

Elements needed in Ecosystems and looking at all Elements in a Self- Sustained Food Forest. Initial short-term irrigation systems.

V. Our UVPCGG Utah Native Trees, Shrubs and Plants Database and advanced research and hands on practice in Classroom Garden.

VI. Planning Purchase of Resources and delivery, scheduling equipment at discounts.

 

Week 1 Excavating Swales, Berms, Hugelbeds and Rain Water Harvesting Systems from your design

Week 2 Food Forests Hands on How they work, what they need, how they evolve

Week 3 Community networking, business planning if you wish to sell some of your harvest

Week 4 Urban Permaculture

VII. PERMA BLITZ COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER GARDEN BARN RAISING PHASE I.  One of student’s properties will be chosen as our School Annual PERMA BLITZ that all instructors and students will come together and bring resources, tools and help put in the Food Forest.( Month long working together scheduling and gathering resources. Then all day Saturday implementation.)

 

VIII. Food preservation, Herbal harvesting, preserving and uses, Grafting, Mushrooms, Alkaline meals, Raw/Vegan recipes, Pruning, Propagating,  and more

 

IX. Solar,Self Sustainability in structural building, living and  Survival Courses.  LAtest Sustainable shelter construction, Geodesic Dome Greenhouses by KingDome, and more information is available as we research.

 

X. Community Networking.​

(Course is taught livestreaming in garden school Tuesdays or Thursdays 6 to 8:00pm with Sat.  Hands on Labs and Workshops)
